Title:Human Engineering Issues for Enhanced Vision Systems
Issuing Committee:G-10 Aerospace Behavioral Engineering Technology
Scope: The scope of this document is limited to EVS human factors issues, problems, and requirements for implementation (both historical and currently open). Any overlap into logic problems or hardware/software design should be considered to be incidental to the human factors research issues. When the performance characteristics of specific technologies are relevant they will be identified. Otherwise, the document attempts to be independent of candidate technologies and concentrate on human interface criteria. This document is a compilation of human factors issues regarding EVS. It is intended that the document be a living report of the human factors 'health' of EVS as well as provide a historical perspective of the issues that have been considered. It will be updated to reflect research and development activities and as the technology improves and applications expand, the breadth of issues covered will be expanded. It is worthwhile pointing out that the technology in this area is advancing rapidly and a number of issues will be amended within 1 year of initial publication.
